A man in his 30s has been arrested by police for allegedly attempting to stab and kill a convenience store owner.
The Bucheon Ojeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (August 10) that it has arrested a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of attempting to murder a female convenience store owner in her 60s, identified as B, by stabbing her with a weapon at a convenience store in Ojeong-gu, Bucheon, at 9:27 PM on the 7th, and threatening a convenience store employee with the weapon as well.
B suffered injuries to her shoulder and other areas and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, though her life is not in danger.
A was subdued at the scene by a convenience store employee and a customer, and responding police officers took him into custody upon arriving at the scene.
Police believe that A and B had a prior conflict and are currently investigating the exact details of the crime.
A police official stated, "After additional investigations, we plan to transfer A to the prosecutors' office soon."
