Director Christopher Nolan's film "Odyssey" has surpassed the 2 million mark nationwide just 6 days after its release.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network on the 10th, "Odyssey" recorded a cumulative audience of 2,006,344 as of 6:04 a.m. that day, reaching the milestone in 6 days. This is 6 days faster than "The King and the Man," which drew 16.9 million viewers, and director Christopher Nolan's previous work "Oppenheimer," while beating "Avatar: Fire and Ash," which mobilized 6.74 million viewers, by a day.

"Odyssey" debuted at No. 1 at the box office by drawing 290,000 viewers on its opening day, beating "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." However, with the gap between the two films standing at less than 20,000 viewers, attention was focused on their first weekend showdown.

The result was a victory for "Odyssey," which gathered 1,333,568 viewers over the weekend (from the 7th to the 9th). It also secured solid results by ranking first overall in seat occupancy rates. Despite having a smaller number of screens than "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," "Odyssey" recorded a seat occupancy rate of 72.1% as of the 9th. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" recorded 1,264,783 viewers over the same period, taking second place with a seat occupancy rate of 56.1%.

With the gap between the two films remaining at just 70,000 viewers even through the first weekend, the two blockbusters split the weekend box office and gave moviegoers a happy dilemma. Thanks to this, theaters drew a total of 3,075,585 visitors over the weekend.
