Professional baseball will resume tomorrow (the 11th) after wrapping up its "heatwave break."

The 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League, which was halted on the 5th due to extreme heat, will resume its race starting with games held at five stadiums nationwide tomorrow.

Except for times when the season had to be suspended to dispatch national team players to major international comprehensive events such as the Asian Games and the Olympics, this is the second time in history and the first in five years since July 2021—when the league experienced mass COVID-19 infections—that the professional baseball regular league has been halted for other reasons.

The KBO Secretariat decided to completely cancel 25 games from the 5th to the 9th, when the sweltering heat reached its peak, and reschedule them for after September.

Until September 6, all games will start at 7:00 PM regardless of the day of the week.

However, if the heat subsides earlier, game times may return to normal.

Considering that there were three rest days between exhibition games and the regular season opening, and six days of All-Star break between the last game of the first half and the first game of the second half, this five-day heatwave break was by no means short.

In particular, the KIA Tigers and NC Dinos, who finished their games on July 31 and had to rest for a staggering ten days due to successive heatwave cancellations, will return to actual competition after 11 days.
