A 1.5-meter-long rat snake appeared at a water play area.

Many of you probably visit water parks these days.

A rat snake measuring about 1.5 meters in length appeared at one such water park.

This caused a commotion, with citizens evacuating the area.

According to the Andong Fire Station, at around 5:00 PM on the 7th, a rat snake about 1.5 meters long was spotted swimming in the water at a water play area near the Nakdong River.

At the time, family visitors were cooling off by dipping their feet in the water at the park.

However, some citizens mistook the snake for a venomous snake, leading to a commotion as people evacuated.

Fire authorities captured the snake and released it into a remote mountain area.

The snake found this time is a protected species designated as a Level II Endangered Wild Animal by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.

It is not venomous.

However, because its appearance, pattern, and color are similar to the viper, which is synonymous with venomous snakes, it was reportedly difficult for ordinary people to tell them apart.
