Bae Ji-hwan, who was released on the 5th by the Triple-A minor league affiliate of the New York Mets in Major League Baseball (MLB), has returned to the big leagues simultaneously with his transfer to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Bae appeared in a game against the Minnesota Twins wearing a Milwaukee uniform at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, today (August 10).

The Milwaukee club announced today that it has added Bae, who signed a minor league contract, to the 26-man roster.

In a 3-3 tie in the top of the 7th inning, Bae entered the game as a defensive replacement at second base, and in his first plate appearance with one out in the bottom of the 7th, he reached base safely with a clever bunt hit toward the first baseman.

This is Bae's first hit in his debut Major League appearance this year, following four consecutive seasons in the big leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates through last year.

In the bottom of the 9th with no outs and a runner on first, Bae successfully completed his assignment with a safe sacrifice bunt, though subsequent hits did not follow.

Milwaukee secured a 4-3 victory by scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
