Police are investigating an online post threatening that a bomb has been planted at Hangang Park in Yeouido, Seoul.

Seoul Seongbuk Police Station announced that it received a report at around 2:25 AM today (the 9th) stating that a bomb threat post had been uploaded to a broadcasting company's reporting platform.

The post stated that a bomb had been planted near Yeouido Hangang Park and that people would be severely injured or killed unless 10 million won was deposited.

Currently, the 2026 Hangang Festival is underway across nine Hangang parks, featuring movie screenings, music concerts, and water leisure activities.

Police are tracking down the author of the post on charges of public intimidation while deploying special forces to the Hangang Park area to check for the presence of any explosives.
