We have seen record-breaking heat day after day. True to the passing of Ipchu (the beginning of autumn), the heat has surprisingly improved quite a bit.

While it won't be the extreme heat nearing 40 degrees Celsius (104°F), it will still be hot enough to warrant heat wave warnings.

Heat wave warnings are in effect in various areas, including Seoul.

Except for the east coast, heat wave advisories have been issued for all other regions.

Currently, western regions such as Seoul and Jeonju are experiencing temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius (86°F).

Meanwhile, the east coast region, affected by easterly winds, is relatively cool with Gangneung recording 22.3 degrees Celsius (72°F).

Even though the extreme heat has eased, sweltering weather around 34 degrees Celsius (93°F) is expected to continue throughout this week.

Meanwhile, due to Typhoon Dolphin heading toward China, rain is currently falling in the east coast region.

A heavy rain advisory has been issued for Uljin.

Rain is expected to intermittently continue in the east coast and Jeju regions until tomorrow.

The expected precipitation ranges from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 60 millimeters.

In inland areas where it does not rain, sudden and heavy showers may pour down at times.

There is a forecast for rain in the Yeongdong and Jeju regions later this week.
