A teenager accused of fatally stabbing his mother is facing a critical juncture regarding his detention.

The Incheon District Court held a pre-arrest interrogation today (the 9th) for 18-year-old A, who was arrested on charges including parricide.

Before the hearing, A remained silent and headed straight into the courtroom, refusing to answer reporters' questions such as "Aren't you sorry to your mother?" and "What kind of conflicts did you have with your family?"

A is suspected of stabbing his 40-year-old mother, B, multiple times at an apartment in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, the evening before yesterday.

It is reported that A stated during police questioning that he committed the crime during an argument.

The decision on whether to detain A is expected to be made as early as this afternoon.
