Former U.S. President Joe Biden is battling prostate cancer that has metastasized and is suffering from the illness, according to his younger son, Hunter Biden.

In an interview with the British broadcaster BBC on the 8th (local time), Hunter Biden opened up about his father's health condition, stating, "The cancer has metastasized and spread to his bones and beyond. It is very painful," adding, "It is truly sad to watch."

He added, "If there is one thing I could say about my father's health right now, it is that I wish he would complain a bit more."

Former President Biden revealed his battle with prostate cancer that had spread to his bones in May of last year after leaving office, and underwent surgery to remove skin cancer cells in September of the same year.

Hunter Biden conveyed that even while battling the illness, the former president continues to speak out on issues he cares about.

"My father believes in this country," he said, adding, "I promise you that as long as he is alive, he will keep fighting."

During his father's presidency, Hunter Biden was convicted of federal gun charges and indicted for tax evasion.

At the end of his term in December 2024, former President Biden pardoned his son despite facing criticism.

Hunter Biden acknowledged that the pardon was "not fair" and that it was "not good" for the United States and his father's legacy.

He also said that receiving the pardon made him "the most privileged person in the world."
