A fire broke out on the first floor of a 12-story apartment building in Juyeop-dong, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, at around 12:50 AM today (August 9).

The fire left a woman in her 20s living on the first floor with second-degree burns, prompting her to be transported to a hospital, while about 40 residents evacuated in the middle of the night.

Fire authorities dispatched 21 pieces of equipment and 56 personnel to the scene, completely extinguishing the fire 23 minutes after it started.

Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the property damage.
