U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly dissatisfied with his second Homeland Security Secretary, Markwayne Mullin, according to reports on August 8 (local time).

Citing sources, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that President Trump is growing disillusioned with Secretary Mullin, feeling that his remarks and policies are out of sync with the administration's stance.

Speaking at a meeting in Oklahoma City earlier this month, Secretary Mullin said, "The narrative that immigration steals American jobs is true for some industries, but it is not true for all industries."

This prompted criticism from President Trump's strong anti-immigration base.

Right-wing influencer Laura Loomer reportedly demanded that President Trump dismiss him.

Secretary Mullin immediately posted on social media, writing, "There is no amnesty for illegal immigrants."

Following a recent fatal shooting incident involving immigrants, Secretary Mullin ordered a temporary suspension of routine traffic stops.

However, President Trump reversed the policy just a day later via a social media post, stating that he had been unaware of Secretary Mullin's directive.

It was also reported that Secretary Mullin had suggested postponing the Independence Day fireworks show in Washington, D.C., which went ahead on July 4 despite thunderstorms, due to safety concerns.

At the time, President Trump recounted, "One of my very smart people behind the scenes said, 'We can do it next week.' I said, 'No, we can't do it next week. Today is the big day. We want July 4.'"

Nevertheless, a senior administration official told the WSJ that President Trump is not yet considering dismissing Secretary Mullin.

Secretary Mullin, a former U.S. Senator (Republican-Oklahoma), became the successor after his predecessor, Kristi Noem, was abruptly dismissed in March.

Former Secretary Noem was the first cabinet member to be ousted in the second Trump administration.
