Last month, a newborn baby just two days old suddenly suffered from breathing difficulties. Stuck on a heavily congested road with the golden time running out, police took the lead and citizens made way for the ambulance, creating a miracle.

Reporter Yoo Soo-Hwan has the story.

An ambulance urgently follows behind a police car.

Vehicles clear the way one by one at the sound of the siren, but the congested rush-hour traffic barely budges.

Urgent announcements continue.

Then, a path opens up for the ambulance right through the blocked road.

On July 3rd last year, two-day-old Chaemin suddenly showed symptoms of breathing difficulties at the hospital.

[Kang Min-ho / Suwon Private Ambulance Driver: When I asked the attending doctor how the baby's condition was, they said, "It's getting worse." So I decided to ask the police for help and contacted them.]

Overlapping with Friday evening rush hour, it would normally take well over an hour to reach a tertiary hospital just 14 kilometers away, but they miraculously arrived in just 15 minutes.

It was thanks to police control and mature civic consciousness.

After receiving treatment, Chaemin overcame the crisis and was safely discharged in good health after a 10-day stay in the hospital.
