Tom Kim was tripped up by a double bogey during the second round of the PGA Tour Wyndham Championship, which boasts a total purse of $8.5 million.

Kim, ranked 34th in the FedEx Cup standings, carded five birdies during the second round of the tournament held at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70) in Greensboro, North Carolina, but a double bogey forced him to settle for a 3-under 67.

Reaching the halfway point at 8-under 132 overall, Kim slipped from a tie for 11th the previous day down to a tie for 14th.

He sits four strokes behind leader Beau Hossler (U.S.), who maintained his top position after shooting 12-under 128 over the first two days.

Kim had charged into contention by shaving four strokes off his score through the 10th hole.

However, he hit a roadblock on the 12th hole, a 223-yard par 3.

Kim's tee shot landed on the green to the left of the pin, but caught a downward slope and rolled off the putting surface.

His approach shot, played from about 20 meters away from the pin, rolled back down the slope, and his third shot ended up in almost the exact same spot.

Kim finally got his ball on the green with his fourth shot and successfully sank a 1.5-meter putt, but ended up losing two strokes on the 12th hole alone.

Although Kim bounced back with a birdie on the 13th hole (par 4), he was unable to lower his score any further and wrapped up the second round with a tinge of regret.

Im Sung-jae, ranked 57th in the FedEx Cup standings, picked up two strokes with five birdies and three bogeys to finish at 5-under 135 overall, tying for 38th place.

After starting with a bogey on the 1st hole (par 4), he reeled off four consecutive birdies from the 2nd hole (par 4), but struggled with his play on the back nine.

He recorded bogeys on the 11th and 13th holes (both par 4s) and managed to make up for them with just a single birdie on the 15th hole (par 5).

Following the Wyndham Championship, the final tournament of the 2026 PGA Tour regular season, players ranked within the top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first playoff event.
