People Power Party Representative Jang Dong-hyeok fiercely criticized Democratic Party lawmaker Hwang Hee's proposal of a "bus house" as a solution to the youth housing problem.

Writing on his social media today (August 7), Representative Jang stated, "The real estate measures under the Lee Jae-myung administration are going from bad to worse," adding, "After previously promising to convert commercial buildings and offices into residential spaces, they are now suggesting remodeling retired buses to provide for young people."

He then counter-proposed, "How about starting as a pilot case by having the president, ministers, presidential senior secretaries, and the children of Democratic Party lawmakers move in and live in them?"

Representative Jang also asked, "Instead of creating jobs for young people, they are telling them to move into 'remodeled buses.' Isn't this mocking young people who are already struggling?"

Previously, Democratic Party lawmaker Hwang Hee suggested, "We should remodel retired buses into living spaces and provide them as short-term housing for young people."

As public criticism over the bus house continued, lawmaker Hwang clarified that it was merely proposed "at the level of an idea."
