A New Zealand city councilor caused a stir after attending a virtual meeting from what appeared to be a bathroom, with household laundry and a person in the shower even captured on screen.

Joe Gallagher, a first-term city councilor in Dunedin, New Zealand, attended the meeting on the 3rd via the video conferencing platform Zoom.

At the time, undergarments and other laundry were clearly visible on his screen, prompting bewildered reactions from his colleagues.

While Councilor Gallagher was explaining local government reforms and unnecessary council spending issues, the shadow of a person wearing black clothing also appeared behind a frosted glass door in the background.
