SBS's new variety show "My Town Reborn," designed to overcome the crisis of regional extinction, is finally ready to unveil its veil.

Premiering this Saturday, August 8, at 5:10 PM KST, SBS's "My Town Reborn" is a regional regeneration project variety show that breathes new life into neglected idle spaces as unique local hubs. Teaming up with experts in various fields, the cast diagnoses on-site problems and handles everything from space remodeling to content planning.

To tackle this massive project, Lee Kyung-gyu, YOUNGTAK, DINDIN, and Lee Won-il have united as the "New Neighborhood Management Team." Led by anchor and team leader Lee Kyung-gyu, the four members with distinct personalities form the lineup: public relations director YOUNGTAK, administrative director DINDIN, and cooking director Lee Won-il.

The first project location for the "New Neighborhood Management Team" is Jinan County in Jeonbuk State. Facing regional extinction due to rapid population decline and aging, the management team's first mission is to regenerate the former Yongdamho Art Museum, which has been abandoned for seven years.

However, the site was utterly disastrous. Left as ruins with only mold, corrosion, and a collapsed ceiling, the scene instantly descended into chaos when a dead bird was even discovered. Witnessing the grim interior, DINDIN ultimately declared that he would quit halfway through the very first shoot, leaving even Lee Kyung-gyu flustered.

An unexpected foodie tour by the management team as they explored Jinan to revitalize the space was also featured. Viewers can look forward to YOUNGTAK showing off a storm of eating while falling in love with the taste of Jinan black pork, and Lee Won-il sparing no praise after drinking a hidden menu item at a Jinan cafe, calling it "the best coffee I've had all year."

However, the project, which seemed to be smoothly finding its direction, runs into a massive hurdle in the form of unexpected legal issues. Attention is focused on whether the "New Neighborhood Management Team" can overcome this and transform the ruins into a new landmark in Jinan.

The first episode of the Jinan leg of "My Town Reborn," SBS's new challenge that has written successful formulas for regional regeneration variety shows such as "Backstreet" and "Local Glow Up: Korea’s Flagship," will air this Saturday, August 8, at 5:10 PM KST.
