What would it be like for a dog trapped in a car on such a scorching hot day?
A Golden Retriever that had been left unattended inside a vehicle for a long period amid record-breaking heat wave conditions has been rescued.
An animal protection organization recently received a tip stating that "a Golden Retriever is lying inside a car" in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, and proceeded with a rescue operation.
The dog was found lying in the rear space of a compact car where the seats had been removed.
Although it appeared someone was caring for it—with pet food and water placed nearby and the dog wearing what looked like a cooling vest—it was limp with no strength and was panting heavily.
The organization stated that the dog is 7 years old this year, was abandoned once in the past, and has been living in the back of the vehicle for five years under the owner who adopted it afterward.
The owner explained that the dog was raised in the car because it could not climb the stairs leading into the house.
The organization persuaded the owner to relinquish ownership, rescued the dog, and is currently protecting it.
