President Donald Trump held a signing ceremony at the White House today (the 7th) and signed an executive order denying U.S. citizenship to babies born through so-called "birth tourism."

The order states that citizenship will not be granted to children born to women who entered the U.S. while concealing the purpose of birth tourism, nor to babies born in diplomatic missions or born in the U.S. or U.S. territories to individuals classified from hostile nations.

It is known that the number of children born in the U.S. through birth tourism ranges from several thousand to tens of thousands.
