Regarding North Korea's ballistic missile launch on the 6th (local time), the U.S. military stated that "the United States remains firmly committed to defending the U.S. homeland and our regional allies."

In a statement released that day, the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (PACOM) said, "We are aware of the missile launch and are consulting closely with our allies and partners."

It added, "Based on our current assessment, this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel, territory, or our allies."

North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile toward the East Sea earlier in the day.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that it detected a short-range ballistic missile launched from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea at 5:00 PM that day.

This marks North Korea's 10th ballistic missile launch of the year, coming 42 days after its last launch.
