A fire broke out on the 11th floor of a 15-story apartment building in Dayul-dong, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, at around 12:30 p.m. today (August 6).

Six residents suffered from smoke inhalation and were transported to the hospital.

Twelve residents evacuated on their own, while four were rescued by firefighting authorities.

Fire authorities mobilized 29 pieces of equipment and 72 personnel, completely extinguishing the fire 34 minutes after it started.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, based on statements from residents indicating that the fire originated near an air conditioner outlet.
