A man in his 70s has been caught by police for stalking and forcibly groping a friend of his ex-wife who has a severe intellectual disability.
The Incheon Bupyeong Police Station announced today (August 6) that it has booked and is currently investigating a man in his 70s, referred to as A, without detention on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (forcible groping of a person with disabilities) and the Stalking Punishment Act.
A is accused of visiting the home of a woman in her 50s with a severe intellectual disability at around 6:00 a.m. the day before yesterday (August 4) and forcibly groping her by touching her waist.
A is also suspected of sending multiple text messages to the victim containing phrases such as "Honey, I love you."
After confirming that reports had previously been filed regarding A stalking the victim, police located A near his residence after he had left the scene, accompanied him voluntarily to the police station, and conducted an investigation.
It was found that the victim is a friend of A's ex-wife.
Police stated that they issued Emergency Urgency Measures No. 1 (written warning) and No. 2 (prohibition of approaching within 100 meters) against A to protect the victim.
