The comprehensive special counsel team has summoned independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon to appear as a reference witness at 10:00 AM on August 12.

The special counsel team plans to question lawmaker Han regarding the circumstances of his attendance at the party-government-presidency meeting on the afternoon of December 4, 2024, the contents discussed at the time, and any connection to subsequent gatherings at a safe house.

At the time, lawmaker Han attended the meeting in his capacity as the leader of the People Power Party. Afterward, attending an emergency general meeting of party lawmakers in the National Assembly, he stated that the martial law could not be considered a mere warning and conveyed demands for the withdrawal of former President Yoon Suk Yeol from the party to figures including Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
