Kim Dae-won of Gangwon FC, Matheus of FC Anyang, Wanderson of Pohang Steelers, and Jeong Seung-won of FC Seoul will compete for the K League Player of the Month award for July of the 2026 season.

The K League announced on the 6th that it has launched a fan vote for the July Player of the Month featuring these four candidates.

The Player of the Month award is presented to the player who showed the best performance each month by the K League and official video game partner Electronic Arts (EA).

Kim Dae-won, who won the Player of the Month award in April, is aiming for his second award of the season after appearing in all of Gangwon FC's matches in July, recording two goals and two assists.

Kim led his team to victory with multiple goals in the 18th round match against Gimcheon and was selected as the Round MVP.

Matheus also appeared in all matches for FC Anyang, posting three goals and two assists, and led a dramatic come-from-behind victory with one goal and one assist in the 19th round away match against Bucheon.

Wanderson of the Pohang Steelers recorded two goals and two assists.

In the 16th round match against Anyang, he contributed to a 3-0 victory with two goals and one assist, earning him the MVP selection.

Jeong Seung-won of FC Seoul poured in a remarkable five goals.

He scored in three consecutive matches from the 18th to 20th rounds, particularly netting multiple goals in the 19th round match against Pohang.

Through these performances, he was selected as Round MVP once and named to the Best XI three times.

Voting will take place for four days starting at 10:00 AM today through the 9th on the K League application Kick, allowing users to vote up to four times in total, once per day.

The FC Online user voting, held during the same period, is limited to once per account.

The Player of the Month winner is determined by narrowing down four candidates through a first-round vote by the Korea Professional Football League Technical Study Group (TSG) Technical Committee (60%), followed by a second-round K League fan vote (25%) and an EA Sports FC Online user vote (15%), with the results of both rounds combined.

The winner receives a trophy and will play wearing a Player of the Month patch on their jersey for that season.

The July Player of the Month is selected based on matches from rounds 16 to 20 of K League 1.
