U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to reach an agreement with Iran on the 5th (local time).
During a speech in Las Vegas, Nevada, that day, President Trump stated, "I'd like to make a deal, because I don't want to kill people."
He went on to hint that he could strike Iran depending on the circumstances, repeating his claim that the United States had prepared and then called off the largest attack against Iran since World War II.
President Trump did not specifically mention the ongoing discussions between Iran and Oman regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Iran claimed that day that it had agreed with Oman on a route to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that a joint statement between the two countries was in the final stages.
