Police investigating the Korea Football Association over the process of appointing the national football team coach have reportedly summoned former coach Hong Myung-bo for the first time.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crime Investigation Unit reportedly called in former coach Hong yesterday, August 4, for questioning as a suspect under a formal complaint.

It was also confirmed that reference questioning regarding suspicions surrounding the national team appointment process was conducted simultaneously.

Hong was previously accused by a civic group on July 2 of charges including obstruction of business and occupational breach of trust related to the appointment of the national team coach.
