The cast of the Netflix series 'Our Sticky Love' shared their thoughts on its provocative title.

On the morning of August 5, a press conference for the new Netflix series 'Our Sticky Love' (created by writer Mo Ji-hye and directed by Kim Jang-han) was held at Hotel Naru Seoul Mgallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Jang-han, along with actors Jung Hae-in, Ha-young, and Heo Sung-tae, attended the event to share various stories about the production.

'Our Sticky Love' is a romantic comedy depicting the heart-fluttering cohabitation between Ko Eun-sae (played by Ha-young), an elite prosecutor suffering from amnesia, and Jang Tae-ha (played by Jung Hae-in), a boxing coach who insists he is her boyfriend. The project brings together director Kim Jang-han, who received acclaim for his sensory direction in 'Do You Like Brahms?' and 'My Demon', and writer Mo Ji-hye of 'You Raise Me Up'.

Regarding the provocative title of the production, Jung Hae-in said, "When I first heard it, I felt it was striking, but I interpreted it as a work with a sweet and sticky charm, much like traditional Korean 'yeot' candy." He added, "What was most attractive was that the narrative between Tae-ha and Eun-sae was so great, and the more I read the script, the more I looked forward to the next episode. The narrative shifting from a rom-com to melodrama, thriller, noir, and action made it impossible to put the script down," expressing his strong affection for the project.

Jung Hae-in passionately plays 'Jang Tae-ha', a self-proclaimed boyfriend of Ko Eun-sae and a somewhat suspicious boxing coach. Living like a soulless machine within the organization he belongs to, Jang Tae-ha decides to leave the organization to reclaim his life. While performing his final mission at a destination, he encounters his fateful first love, Ko Eun-sae, and begins a life-risking lie.

Ha-young took on the role of 'Ko Eun-sae', an elite prosecutor suffering from amnesia. Before losing her memory, her name was 'Ko Ji-won'. While tracking down a violent gang to seize an opportunity for success, she gets caught up in an unexpected accident. Waking up in an unfamiliar rural hospital having lost all her memories, Ko Eun-sae follows Jang Tae-ha, an unidentified man claiming to be her 'boyfriend', heading to Yeot Village to unfold dynamic episodes.

Ha-young also shared her initial impression of the title, saying, "It was a truly intense title. I wondered what kind of content a rom-com with such a strong expression would entail." She continued, "The drawing power was so tremendous that I read the entire script in one sitting as soon as I received it," adding, "The characters and lines breathed vibrantly within it, immersing me instantly."

Gang boss 'Baek Sang-길', played by Heo Sung-tae, believes he has completely eliminated prosecutor Ko Ji-won, who held his weaknesses. One day, upon hearing news that she is still alive, he pursues her whereabouts. Baek Sang-gil's persistent pursuit, which adds thrilling tension to the romance between the two men and women, is expected to heighten the immersion of the drama.

Heo Sung-tae threw the scene into laughter with his unique witty remarks, saying, "I thought, 'Are they joking?' at first when I heard the title." He added, "The more I read the script, the more I thought no title could suit it better. I also liked the English title, 'Our Sticky Love'." Heo explained his reasons for choosing this work, stating, "My conversations with the director and writer flowed very well, and I wanted to meet actors Jung Hae-in and Ha-young, so there was no reason not to do it."

Explaining the reason behind deciding on the title 'Our Sticky Love', Director Kim Jang-han stated, "The expression definitely has a hooking point." Director Kim elaborated on the special meaning imbued in the title, saying, "From Eun-sae's perspective, when she first opens her eyes with amnesia, she faces a 'messed-up' situation, which is the primary meaning. On top of that, yeot is sticky and sweet, and I thought it was a medium that well expresses the love between the two people. Yeot offers various tastes, which I thought resembled the diverse aspects our drama shows."

The Netflix series 'Our Sticky Love', which will deliver diverse genre-based entertainment ranging from romantic comedies to thrillers and noir, consists of a total of 12 episodes and will be released via Netflix on the coming 7th.
