The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced that it will provide cooling cost support for vulnerable populations to respond to the heatwave.

Seoul will disburse 50,000 won in cooling subsidies to approximately 410,000 households, including basic livelihood security recipients and near-poor households.

Cooling costs for two months will also be provided to short-term residential facilities for people with disabilities and welfare centers for people with disabilities.

Additionally, the support period for electricity bills for shared air conditioners in jjokbangchon (bohemian/dosshouse) areas will be extended from the existing three months to four months.
