Lee Jung-hoo, who remained with San Francisco instead of being traded before the Major League Baseball trade deadline, wielded a hot bat. He recorded a three-hit game including his second career big league multi-home run, along with a stolen base and a stellar defensive play.

San Francisco, drifting further away from postseason contention with a winning percentage in the low 40-percent range, traded away major league regulars ahead of the deadline—including National League batting leader Luis Arraez, starting pitcher Robbie Ray, and outfielder Heliot Ramos—in exchange for prospects.

Opting to write off the current season for a rebuilding phase aimed at the future, the team chose to keep Lee Jung-hoo.

Considered a core pillar of the future given his solid skills and popularity, Lee immediately proved the club's decision right.

In the third inning against the Texas Rangers, he capitalized on a mistake pitch, driving it over the right-center field wall for his 7th solo home run of the season. In the fifth, he ripped a bullet-like single to left field and immediately swiped second base for his 8th stolen base of the season.

Then, in his fourth plate appearance in the eighth inning, he golfed a low slider over the right-center field wall once again for his 8th solo home run of the season.

This marks Lee's first multi-home run game since April of last year and the second of his big league career, tying his personal single-season high for major league home runs set last year.

With his 10th three-hit game of the season, he raised his batting average to 0.306, climbing to 5th in the National League.

Lee also delivered two brilliant defensive plays in right field, putting on a one-man show in offense, defense, and base running to lead his team out of a three-game losing streak.
