A man in his 50s has died after getting caught in a scrap metal compressor while working at a waste disposal facility in Jeju.

At around 4:30 PM today (August 3), a report was received that a worker's upper body was caught in a scrap metal compressor at a waste disposal facility in Hoecheon-dong, Jeju City.

The worker was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, but ultimately passed away.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
