Incheon's first heat-related death of this year has been reported amid a heatwave warning.
According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters, at around 6:30 a.m. yesterday (August 2), a report was filed with 119 stating that a man in his 40s, identified as A, was wandering around a street in Gyeyang-gu without a shirt.
At the time, Mr. A had a body temperature exceeding 38°C (100°F) and was transported to a hospital by 119 paramedics.
His condition subsequently worsened, with his body temperature rising to nearly 40°C (104°F). He passed away at around 4:00 a.m. today, about a day after being transferred.
Based on the medical staff's opinion, the Incheon Metropolitan City government believes Mr. A died of heatstroke and is currently investigating the exact circumstances.
