The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation announced that it will hold the 2026 nationwide photo contest for the 1988 Seoul Olympics and Paralympics.

Marking its second iteration following last year, the contest is designed to rediscover and reilluminate the memories of the Seoul Olympics and Paralympics experienced by the public, while celebrating their legacy and values. Any South Korean citizen who holds photographs containing memories of the Seoul Olympics and Paralympics can participate.

The Sports Promotion Foundation will select and award a total of 13 works through a three-stage judging process, including a grand prize (1 winner, 2 million won). In addition, 100 participation prizes will be separately selected to provide small gifts.

Citizens wishing to apply can fill out the application form via the QR code on the poster or notice by the 30th of this month, and submit their works and stories either online or by mail.

Meanwhile, the Sports Promotion Foundation plans to restore the selected works into artificial intelligence (AI) videos, hold a screening at the 38th-anniversary ceremony of the Seoul Olympics opening scheduled for September 17, and utilize them as contents on social networking services (SNS).
