A death presumed to be caused by a heat-related illness has occurred in Busan, where scorching heat continues with severe heat wave warnings in effect.

According to the Busan Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, a man in his 70s collapsed while working on a farm in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, at around 6:20 p.m. yesterday (August 2).

The man was transported to a hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but he died.

At the time, the man's body temperature reached 39.5°C (103°F).

In Busan, another death presumed to be caused by a heat-related illness was reported on July 30.
