A fire broke out in an electric vehicle parked in a vacant lot in Incheon, damaging a total of nine vehicles including the EV itself.
According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters on Sunday (August 3), a report was filed with 119 at 7:58 PM the previous day stating that a fire had broken out in an EV parked in a vacant lot in Wanggil-dong, Geomdan-gu.
The fire spread to neighboring parked vehicles, completely destroying two and partially burning seven others.
Fire authorities, dispatched after receiving a report from a passerby, completely extinguished the fire in 18 minutes, at 8:16 PM.
It was reported that several vehicles presumed to be broken down were parked in the vacant lot.
Fire authorities believe the fire started in the EV's battery and plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
