U.S. President Donald Trump hinted on the 2nd (local time) that an agreement has been reached with Iran regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Foreign media outlets, including Reuters and AFP, reported that President Trump made the remarks while speaking with reporters on his way back to Washington, D.C., from Bedminster, New Jersey.

President Trump announced that talks between the U.S. and Iran will take place on the afternoon of Monday, the 3rd, U.S. time.

He also hinted that discussions could move forward regarding the Iranian nuclear issue, stating that a future denuclearization agreement is possible.

President Trump had previously warned of a powerful strike against Iran during a cabinet meeting at Camp David, Maryland, on July 31st. However, the previous night, he announced the cancellation of military operations on Truth Social, writing, "I have received requests from Iran and other Middle Eastern countries, who have agreed to a framework for an agreement, asking to hold off on any attacks."
