Ulsan HD has climbed to second place in K League 1, defeating FC Anyang thanks to a multi-goal performance by Lee Dong-gyeong.

Ulsan secured a 3-1 comeback victory against Anyang in their Hana Bank K League 1 2026 Round 21 home match held at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium today (the 2nd).

Having gone five matches without a win (two draws and three losses) around the World Cup break, Ulsan bounced back in their previous round with a 3-1 resounding victory over league leaders FC Seoul. They have now raised their momentum significantly by securing consecutive wins with the exact same scoreline.

With 34 points (33 goals scored), Ulsan is tied in points with Jeonbuk Hyundai (27 goals scored) but leads on goal difference, moving up from third to second place.

The point gap between Ulsan and Seoul stands at nine points.

Anyang, whose first winning streak of the season was halted at two games, maintained fifth place with 30 points.

Both teams struck the goalposts twice during a heated first half.

For Anyang, Kang Ji-hoon's right-footed volley and El Kurano's header hit the crossbar in quick succession in the 6th minute of the first half. Thirty minutes into the match, Ulsan's Lee Dong-gyeong attempted a left-footed volley from the center of the penalty area, followed five minutes later by a mid-range shot from Ulsan's Lee Jin-hyun, with both efforts striking the woodwork.

Anyang's ace Matheus opened the scoring.

In the 11th minute of the second half, Matheus received a pass from Yukic on the left side of the penalty area, eluded closing Ulsan defenders with slick ball control, and found the bottom right corner of the net with a left-footed shot.

Ulsan leveled the score in the 18th minute of the second half through a penalty kick by Yago.

Earlier, Anyang's Lee Chang-yong was penalized for a tackle on Yago as he was driving down the left flank, conceding a penalty.

Ulsan capitalized on a defensive error in the 28th minute of the second half, with Lee Dong-gyeong striking the winning goal through a precise left-footed shot.

Anyang veteran defender Kwon Woo-kyung played a short backpass that goalkeeper Kim Jung-hoon failed to control properly.

Lee Dong-gyeong met the loose ball bouncing off Kim Jung-hoon's foot with a low left-footed shot to shake the back of the net.

It was again Lee Dong-gyeong's left foot that sealed the victory.

In the 32nd minute of the second half, Yago drew a foul and a free kick from Kwon Kyung-won at the edge of the penalty arc.

Step up as the kicker, Lee Dong-gyeong curled a sharp, direct left-footed shot over the defensive wall to open Anyang's goal once more.

Scoring his 10th goal of the season, Yago took sole possession of the top spot in the league scoring rankings, closely followed by Lee Dong-gyeong with 9 goals after netting his first brace of the season.

Lee Dong-gyeong also climbed to the top of the attacking points leaderboard with 14 points (including 5 assists).

Anyang squandered a chance to chase the game when Matheus missed a penalty kick awarded due to a handball foul by Ulsan defender Jung Seung-hyun during stoppage time of the second half.

At the Daejeon World Cup Stadium, Daejeon Hana Citizen claimed their emotional first home win of the season in their 21st match since the opening.

It also marked their first victory in 10 matches.

Facing bottom-placed Gwangju, Daejeon secured a 2-0 win propelled by a goal from Rubvikson in the 30th minute of the second half.

Breaking their grueling nine-match winless streak (five draws and four losses), Daejeon moved up two spots to ninth place with 23 points.

Gwangju remained stuck in 12th place with 10 points.

Rubvikson netted the winning goal by finishing off a loose ball with a right-footed shot after Gwangju defender Joao Pedro failed to properly clear a teammate's cross.

Shortly after, Eom Won-sang scored a sealing goal during stoppage time of the second half to secure Daejeon's victory.

At the Jeju World Cup Stadium, Jeju SK FC and Incheon played out a thrilling, high-scoring draw after trading two goals each in the first half alone, ending 3-3.

Jeju opened the scoring first in the 12th minute of the first half with Kim Shin-jin's imaginative back-heel shot following Negeva's low cross.

Incheon responded through Kim Gun-hee, who netted a brace in the 34th and 37th minutes of the first half by connecting with consecutive corner kicks using towering headers.

These marked Kim Gun-hee's first and second goals of the season.

Jeju leveled the match 2-2 in the 46th minute of the first half through Tobias's header following Oh Jae-hyeok's corner kick.

Then, in the 11th minute of the second half, Aias received a forward pass from Kim Jun-ha and scored with his left foot to retake the lead at 3-2.

Lee Joo-yong, who had contributed two assists by setting up both of Kim Gun-hee's headers from corner kicks in the first half, stepped up as the scorer of a wonder goal.

In the 16th minute of the second half, he unleashed a fierce left-footed mid-range shot from approximately 35 meters out into the back of the net.

Jeju moved up one spot to seventh place with 28 points, while Incheon maintained sixth place with 29 points.
