San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee recorded a hit in two games.

Starting as the number two batter and right fielder in an away game against the San Diego Padres in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) season held at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on today (August 2, local time), Lee went 1-for-5 with one run scored.

His season batting average dropped from .300 to .299 (114 hits in 382 at-bats).

After showing a recent slump, including a July monthly batting average of .244, his .300 batting average eventually collapsed again.

Lee was retired on a routine play in his first at-bat in the top of the first inning.

He was out on a grounder to first base with a runner on first and no outs.

In the top of the third inning with two outs and the score tied 2-2, he managed a fortunate hit.

Facing San Diego right-handed starting pitcher Walker Buehler, he hit a high fastball on a 1-ball, 2-strike count for his fourth pitch.

The hard-hit ball glanced off Buehler's glove and trickled away, resulting in an infield hit.

Lee then crossed home plate to score on Rafael Devers' RBI single to left field.

In the top of the fifth inning with no outs and a runner on first while trailing 3-4, he chased a low breaking ball and was retired on a pop fly to third base. In the top of the seventh inning with one out and the deficit widening to 3-5, he struck out on three pitches against left-handed reliever Adrian Morejon.

Leading off the top of the ninth inning with the game tied 5-5, he struck out swinging against San Diego's elite closer Mason Miller.

San Francisco lost 5-6 after allowing a walk-off RBI single up the middle to Jake Cronenworth with runners on second and third and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

San Diego infielder Song Sung-mun entered as a pinch runner at first base in the bottom of the eighth inning with the score tied 5-5, but was caught stealing and did not get an at-bat.
