At around 7:58 a.m. today (August 2), a person in their 40s, identified as A, was found in a state of cardiac arrest off the coast of Bangpo Beach in Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.

Emergency rescue services dispatched to the scene after receiving a report that a person was in the water pulled A out and transported them to a hospital while performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but A ultimately passed away.

The Taean Coast Guard stated that A appears to have visited the area with companions for a summer vacation.

They added that an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances by questioning companions and witnesses.
