President Lee Jae-myung has wrapped up his tour of three South American countries and departed for Frankfurt, Germany.

President Lee visited Brasilia and Sao Paulo in Brazil for four days starting on the 26th, and Santiago, Chile, for a two-day, one-night stay starting on the 29th, meeting with leaders and business figures of each country to seek strengthened cooperation with South Korea.

On the 31st, he held a summit with Argentine President Javier Milei in Argentina to discuss ways to cooperate on critical minerals and energy.

During the summit, President Lee achieved results in supporting domestic companies entering the market by diversifying supply chains, such as agreeing to import crude oil from Argentina starting next year, and concluding a double taxation prevention agreement with Argentina.

The leaders of the two countries also agreed to promote the prompt resumption of trade agreement negotiations between South Korea and Mercosur to enhance South Korean companies' market access in South America.

Before his departure on the morning of the 1st, President Lee visited the La Boca neighborhood, known as the birthplace of tango, to spend time communicating with local citizens.

Having thus concluded his three-nation South American tour, President Lee is scheduled to hold a meeting with compatriots in Frankfurt, Germany, before heading back to South Korea.
