Driven by a booming semiconductor sector, South Korea's exports last month recorded the second-highest performance in history.

Exports last month rose 62.8% from the same month last year to $98.89 billion, marking the largest figure following last June, when exports surpassed $100 billion for the first time in history.

As semiconductor exports exceeded $40 billion for the second consecutive month following June, leading the export growth momentum, the trade surplus also surpassed $30 billion for the second straight month.
