At approximately 6:43 PM today (August 1), a hospitalized patient identified as A wielded a weapon against another patient sharing the same room at a nursing hospital in Sinan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away.

Police have arrested A and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
