Tourists who were swimming near a breakwater in the waters off Jeju have been safely rescued by 119 rescue workers.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire and Safety Headquarters today (August 1), a report was received at around 6:40 PM yesterday (July 31) stating that people were unable to get out of the water in front of the breakwater at Taeheung 1-ri Port in Namwon-eup, Seogwipo.

Firefighters dispatched to the scene rescued all five tourists, consisting of four individuals in their 40s and one in their 50s who were clinging to the breakwater wall.

Some of the rescued individuals suffered minor abrasions on their legs and other areas, but fortunately, no major health issues were reported.
