A 4-year-old girl has died after drowning at a water park inside a resort.

According to authorities, a report was filed at around 5:15 p.m. yesterday (July 31) stating that a 4-year-old girl had fallen into a water facility at a resort in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province, and was not breathing.

Fire authorities transported the girl, who was in cardiac arrest, to a nearby hospital, but she passed away while receiving treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
