A 25-ton cargo truck loaded with soil caught fire near the South Goyang IC on the Seoul-Munsan Expressway in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6:30 AM today (August 1).

The truck crashed through the guardrail and plunged off the edge of the overpass.

Fortunately, the truck driver was found not to have sustained serious injuries.

The fire on the cargo truck was extinguished in about 30 minutes.

Police believe that the fire broke out while the truck was in motion, causing brake failure that led the vehicle to crash into the railing, and are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
