Professional baseball team KT Wiz extended its winning streak to four games while maintaining its strong momentum in the second half of the season.

KT secured a 5-3 comeback victory against the Hanwha Eagles in their home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League regular season held at Suwon KT Wiz Park.

With the win, league second-place KT's record in the second half improved to 10 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw in 12 games.

KT claimed victory by breaking down Hanwha's star starting pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin.

After giving up a three-run opening home run to Shim Woo-jun in the top of the second inning, KT got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth when Huh Kyung-min was hit by a pitch with one out and the bases loaded, forcing in a run.

With the bases still loaded and one out, the KT bench brought in pinch hitter Oh Yoon-seok for Cho Dae-hyun, and Oh met expectations with a sacrifice fly to center field.

KT finally turned the game around in the bottom of the sixth inning.

With one out and a runner on second, Kim Sang-su hit an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3, knocking Ryu Hyun-jin off the mound. KT then kept the pressure on with runners on second and third following Huh Kyung-min's double.

Han Seung-taek, who took over behind the plate starting from the fifth inning after Oh Yoon-seok entered as a pinch hitter, hit a crucial two-run, go-ahead single to right-center field off Lee Hyung-beom.

Ryu Hyun-jin, who had failed to pick up a win in five consecutive starts since his victory against the KIA Tigers on June 11, suffered his 3rd loss of the season (8 wins).

Although Ryu became the 8th player in league history to pitch 100 innings for 10 consecutive seasons during this game, the milestone was overshadowed by the team's defeat.

For KT, Joo Kwon earned a relief win after taking the mound in the sixth inning, while Park Young-hyun picked up the save in the ninth, reaching 20 saves for the third consecutive season.
