Golfer Kim Min-ju has maintained her lead for the second consecutive day at the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour Aurora World Championship.

Playing the second round of the tournament held at Aurora Golf & Resort in Wonju, Gangwon Province, Kim shot a 3-under-par with seven birdies, two bogeys, and a double bogey.

After firing five birdies without a blemish on the front nine, Kim recorded two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine before dropping two strokes with a double bogey on the final hole.

Although the finish was somewhat regrettable, Kim shaved three strokes off her score in the second round to reach a total of 10-under-par, putting her in sole possession of the lead, one stroke ahead of Lee Ye-won (9-under-par overall).

Having shared the first-round lead at 7-under-par with Kim Sae-rom, Kim Min-ju moved ahead alone to hold the top spot for two days in a row.

Kim, who secured her first career victory at the iM Financial Open in April of last year, is now aiming for her second career win.

Lee Ye-won, who has 10 career wins on the regular tour, fired five strokes under par in the second round to jump to sole second place at 9-under-par, one stroke behind Kim Min-ju. Kim Sae-rom, who was co-leader on the opening day, placed sole third at 8-under-par.

Jang Eun-su and Lee Ji-hyun (Lee Ji-hyun 3) followed in joint fourth place at 7-under-par.

Kim Min-sol, who leads the multiple-win, prize money, and Player of the Year points races with three victories this season, did not participate in this tournament as she is competing in the AIG Women's Open, a major tournament on the LPGA Tour. Meanwhile, Seo Gyo-lim, who sits second behind Kim Min-sol in both the prize money ranking and Player of the Year points with two wins this season, surged up the leaderboard into a tie for sixth place at 6-under-par after carding a 5-under-par in the second round.

Park Min-ji, who shares the record for the most wins in KLPGA regular tour history (20 wins) alongside legends Ku Ok-hee and Shin Ji-yai, also moved up to joint sixth place alongside Seo Gyo-lim, raising expectations for a new record.

The tournament, which features a total purse of 1 billion won and a winner's prize of 180 million won, will run for four rounds until this coming Sunday (August 2).
