U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 30th (local time) that Hamas, the pro-Iranian Palestinian militant faction, has agreed to complete disarmament.

Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, President Trump stated, "Today, the Peace Council has reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other militant groups in the Gaza Strip. This is monumental progress toward lasting peace and security [in Gaza]."

The Peace Council is a top decision-making body established under President Trump's leadership to oversee peacekeeping and urban reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

However, Hamas has yet to respond to President Trump's announcement.

Hamas had previously refused to accept disarmament, but on the 6th, it officially announced the dissolution of its 20-year governing apparatus in the Gaza Strip.

If Hamas has agreed to disarmament, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the new governing body tasked with security and administration in the Gaza Strip, is expected to secure full administrative authority, facilitating peace, stability, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza in line with President Trump's vision.

President Trump wrote, "This agreement is a crucial step toward Gaza finally coming under the rule of a new Palestinian government, which will work closely with the Peace Council to help the Palestinian people."

He added, "At the same time, Israel will secure the security it deserves by ensuring that Gaza is no longer used as a base for terrorist attacks."

President Trump also stated, "Once disarmament is complete, the Israeli military will withdraw, and an international stabilization force will cooperate with a new Palestinian police force to secure Gaza for its residents and neighboring countries."
