As the biggest star of the All-Star Game, drawing attention wherever he went, Son engaged in a "humor battle" before the match with German legend Thomas Müller, whom he met as a teammate for the first time.

[Thomas Müller / Vancouver (MLS All-Star): (Thomas, you once lost a match against Son Heung-min. Do you remember which game it was?) Unfortunately, I remember it. (Which game was it?) It was the World Cup (in 2018).]

[Son Heung-min / LA FC (MLS All-Star): (Son must remember the win against Germany vividly, right?) Of course. It is still vivid. It must be "the greatest moment" of my World Cup career.]

[Thomas Müller / Vancouver (MLS All-Star): (You are facing each other in a league match in a few days, right?) I hope that win over me is the only one for Son throughout his entire career.]

[Son Heung-min / LA FC (MLS All-Star): I think I'll be taking my second win in this upcoming matchup.]

After trading lighthearted banter with Müller, Son started as captain for the MLS All-Star team, wearing a uniform with the Taegeukgi emblazoned on his chest. He scored the equalizer in the 20th minute of the first half, when the MLS All-Stars were trailing the Mexican All-Stars 1 to 0.

[Broadcasting Commentary: This is what many fans came to the All-Star Game to see. "Top star" Son Heung-min lives up to the fans' expectations.]

Savoring the joy with his teammates,

[Son Heung-min: (Talk into the mic here.) Let's go!]

Son netted the go-ahead goal just three minutes later.

He drove the fans into a frenzy with a fantastic volley inside the penalty box.

Having secured a multi-goal performance, Son was substituted off during the hydration break in the 35th minute of the first half.

[Son Heung-min / LA FC (MLS All-Star): (Were you satisfied with the All-Star match?) It is a truly enjoyable and amazing experience. My great teammates created the chances, allowing me to score easily.]

The MLS team won 4 to 3, and Son captured the MVP honors in his very first All-Star appearance.

[Son Heung-min / LA FC (MLS All-Star): (You were selected as today's MVP.) Oh! No way. Just kidding. I'm really happy and want to thank everyone. I'd love to play in the All-Star Game again next time and win the MVP once more.]

Having thoroughly enjoyed the festival of stars, Son will aim for his fourth consecutive league match with a goal this coming Sunday against Vancouver, led by Müller.
