The Cheongju Heungdeok Police Station announced on the 30th that it has arrested and is currently investigating a man in his 70s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder for striking an acquaintance in the head with a dumbbell.

A is accused of inflicting serious injuries on an acquaintance in his 60s, identified as B, by swinging a 10-kilogram dumbbell at his head at around 2:30 p.m. today inside a barbershop operated by A in Bongmyeong-dong, Cheongju.

Police believe that A swung the dumbbell, which was inside the barbershop, in the heat of the moment during an argument with B, and are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
