A body presumed to be a young boy has been found in the waters off Seogeomdo Island in Incheon, prompting the Coast Guard to launch an investigation.

According to the Ganghwa Police Station and the Incheon Coast Guard, a report was filed via 112 at around noon on the 25th stating that a dead body was floating in the waters near Seogeomdo Island, Ganghwa-gun.

Responding to a joint response request from the police, the Coast Guard was dispatched, recovered the body presumed to be a male child, and requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service.

At the time, the body was in a state of severe decomposition, and its height was reportedly around 110 to 120 centimeters.

An official from the Coast Guard stated, "There are no signs of foul play confirmed so far," adding, "We cannot disclose specific details as the investigation is currently underway."
