A hearing to inspect the overall operation of the Korea Football Association is underway at the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee.

The hearing has featured ongoing questions regarding the controversy surrounding the appointment process of former national football team coach Hong Myung-bo and the association's closed personnel practices.

Attending as a witness, former coach Hong apologized for failing to meet public expectations at the North and Central America World Cup, but stated that he understands there were no special favors involved in his appointment process. Former Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-gyu also apologized for the controversies and the World Cup slump that occurred during his tenure.

However, they denied suspicions of closed-door administration, including the process surrounding Hong's appointment.
